​Peer Support Associate Training

Peer Support Associates are a critical resource in the mental health and substance use recovery process. NAMI Juneau offers this training typically once a year in April. Click the button above to join our interest list, and we'll contact you when the next class is scheduled.

Thank you for your interest in becoming certified as a Peer Support Associate!  This certification is available to anyone in recovery from substance use or mental illness.  The process to become a Peer Support Specialist is as follows:

​

  • Attend 5 days of in-person classes

  • Location is in the SERRC TLC Large Classroom

  • 12 hours of self-directed videos or watch as a group

  • Submit an application to the State after completion of the course.  We will pay for the application fee and help you with your application

​Peer Support Associate Re-Certification Workshop

​​

NAMI Juneau offers a two day workshop for anyone who has been through Peer Support Specialist class. This workshop includes a refresher of the original course and the continuing education requirements for anyone who is pursuing recertification.
